Printing Plate Case Studies

By , Sales Manager, CTPPress

Last updated: October 2026

Quick answer: Our case studies describe real customers who buy our CTP plates or a CTP platesetter through us. We keep every customer anonymous and only publish facts the customer relationship confirms. The featured case is a print shop in Canada running our processless thermal plates; the table below summarises customers in 11 countries, from dealers to printing companies.

Key takeaways

  • Every case study is a real customer; names, cities and volumes are not published.
  • The featured case: a Canadian print shop switched to our processless thermal plates on its existing thermal platesetter and has ordered every month since 2024.
  • We supply dealers and printing companies in the USA, Canada, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela.
  • The fastest proof for your own shop is a trial: sample plates tested on your own platesetter and press.

Every supplier says its plates are the best, so buyers ask how printers like them actually use the plates. Many also feel case studies are just marketing — a story alone proves little about your own press. This page therefore shows real, anonymous customer cases and explains how to test sample plates on your own platesetter before you order.

Featured case study: processless plates for a print shop in Canada

Processless thermal CTP plate used by a print shop in Canada
Processless thermal CTP plate — the grade used in our Canada case study.

A print shop with a bookstore in Canada was using another manufacturer’s processless plate and wanted an alternative supplier, without changing its existing thermal platesetter or press workflow. We matched a processless thermal CTP plate grade to their platesetter and sent sample plates. They tested them on their own platesetter and press, the plates ran fully, and they have placed regular orders every month since 2024.

How we run plate trials before an order

Our platesetter and press are different, buyers rightly say. A trial on your own equipment answers that objection better than any case study. This is how a trial normally runs:

  1. Tell us your setup. Platesetter type, plate size and gauge (for example 0.15, 0.20, 0.25 or 0.30 mm), press, inks and, for conventional plates, your developer and processor.
  2. We match the grade. We recommend a thermal CTP plate, CTcP plate, processless or violet grade and share the grade TDS.
  3. We send sample plates. Request trial plates; sample terms are confirmed in the quotation.
  4. You test on your own platesetter and press. Follow our plate test protocol: exposure and screen test form, processing or on-press start-up, and a controlled press run.
  5. Review and first order. We go through the results with you, then agree sizes, packing and the first order.

FAQ

Are these printing plate case studies from real customers?

Yes. Every case and every row in the country table is a real customer. We publish only facts confirmed in the customer relationship and do not add volumes, results or quotes that we cannot back up.

Why are customer names not shown in the case studies?

Printers and dealers treat their suppliers as confidential, so we keep every customer anonymous and do not give names, cities or websites. The best way to check the fit for your own shop is a trial with sample plates.

Can I test your plates before placing an order?

Yes. We send sample plates matched to your platesetter and press, and you test them with our plate test protocol on your own equipment. Sample terms are confirmed in the quotation.

Which countries do you supply printing plates to?

We have customers in the USA, Canada, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. We also quote for printers and dealers in other countries.
